The purpose of reiki is to bring a person in to balance on every level.

Reiki is a gentle but powerful non-invasive holistic healing modality that works on our mind-body-soul connection or if you prefer the healing works on many levels; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

 

 

Who is reiki for?

Reiki is for everyone and can be tailored to your needs in
our consultation, it is a particularly good therapy for people who are having stressful feelings, burn out, are in pain or have experienced trauma. With that said it is also a great therapy for people who would like to
just bring a bit more harmony to themselves.

 

 

What is a typical session like?

Reiki sessions are 45 minutes long but I will be with you for 60 minutes so that I can ask a few questions and you can share any health issues or concerns with me. Once we have had a chat I will guide you into your reiki session using breathing.
The person receiving Reiki is usually laying down or seated if you have any discomfort. You are fully clothed and covered with a blanket. You can also have a bolster and cushions so that you are comfortable and relaxed for the entire session.
The treatment is done by moving hands around the body using a mixture of hands on (a light touch) and hands off (hovering) healing. It is not an invasive treatment and we will always establish if there are areas of your body that you do not like to be touched prior to the session.
At the end of your treatment I will guide you out of your relaxed state and there will be a few minutes to share before I leave you.

 

 

What can I expect to feel?

A lot of people liken reiki to a deep sleep but a session can be different for everyone. You may feel calm and sleepy after a session or you may feel energised the aim of the session is always to bring you in to balance and the effects are subtle but will continue to grow for a little while after a session. You may find you have a great sleep that night!
 
Drinking lots of water is recommended to help support you and the therapy.
